Cyberbullying Workshop

Being Kind and Respectful Online

As young people spend more time communicating through social media, messaging apps, gaming platforms and online communities, understanding how to recognise and respond to cyberbullying has never been more important.

Our Cyberbullying Workshop encourages students to explore the real impact online behaviour can have on others while developing the confidence to challenge harmful behaviour, support their peers and make informed decisions online.

Using real-world scenarios, discussion and interactive activities, students gain a deeper understanding of digital empathy, responsible online communication and the role every individual plays in creating a safer online environment.

What Students Will Learn

Understanding Cyberbullying

Students will explore what cyberbullying is, the different forms it can take across social media, messaging platforms, gaming communities and group chats, and why it can sometimes be difficult to recognise.

Recognising the Signs

Students will learn how to identify cyberbullying behaviours, understand when online banter crosses the line, and recognise the emotional and psychological impact cyberbullying can have on individuals.

Upstanders and Bystanders

Students will examine the role of bystanders and the positive difference an Upstander can make. They will develop the confidence to support others safely and understand why remaining silent can sometimes contribute to the problem.

Digital Empathy

Through discussion and real-life examples, students will explore how online interactions can affect confidence, self-esteem and mental wellbeing, encouraging empathy and respectful online communication.

Reporting and Getting Help

Students will learn practical strategies for responding to cyberbullying, including how to report abusive behaviour, use platform reporting tools and seek support from trusted adults and school staff when needed.

Creating Positive Online Communities

Students will explore how their own actions help shape online spaces and learn how respect, kindness and responsible digital citizenship contribute to safer online communities for everyone.
