Thinking Critically in a Digital World

Young people are exposed to more online information than ever before. From social media and AI-generated content to news articles, influencers and viral videos, knowing what to trust has become an essential life skill.

Our Digital Literacy Workshop equips students with the critical thinking skills needed to navigate today’s digital world with confidence. Through engaging discussion and real-world examples, students learn how to question information, identify misinformation and understand how digital content can influence opinions, behaviours and decision-making.

The workshop encourages students to become informed, responsible and resilient digital citizens.

What Students Will Learn

Understanding Digital Literacy

Students will explore what digital literacy means and why being able to critically evaluate online content is just as important as knowing how to use technology.

Spotting Misinformation and Fake News

Students will learn how misinformation spreads online, why false information is created and shared, and how to recognise misleading headlines, edited images and manipulated content.

Fact Checking and Verifying Information

Students will discover practical techniques for checking whether online information is accurate, including comparing multiple sources, identifying credible websites and questioning sensational content before sharing it.

Critical Thinking Online

Students will develop the confidence to ask questions, recognise bias, understand persuasive techniques and think independently before accepting information as fact.

AI and Digital Content

Students will explore how Artificial Intelligence can generate realistic text, images and videos, while learning why AI-generated content should always be viewed with curiosity and critical thinking rather than blind trust.

Becoming a Responsible Digital Citizen
