Online Predators Workshop
Online Predators Workshop
Staying Safe from Online Manipulation
The internet provides endless opportunities to connect, communicate and make new friends. However, not everyone online is who they claim to be.
Our Online Predators Workshop helps students understand how online predators operate, the tactics they use to build trust and manipulate young people, and how to recognise warning signs before a situation becomes harmful.
Using age-appropriate real-life scenarios and interactive discussions, students develop the confidence to make safer choices online, protect their personal information and know where to seek help if something doesn’t feel right.

What Students Will Learn
Understanding Online Grooming
Students will explore what online grooming is, how it develops over time and why predators often spend weeks or even months building trust before asking for something in return.
Recognising Manipulation
Students will learn to identify common grooming tactics, including flattery, gifts, secrecy, emotional manipulation, pressure, isolation and attempts to move conversations onto private platforms.
Fake Profiles and Online Identities
Students will discover how fake profiles, edited images and false identities can be used to deceive people online, and why it is impossible to know who is really behind a screen.
Protecting Personal Information
Students will understand the importance of protecting personal information, location data and images, and why oversharing online can increase vulnerability.
Responding to Unsafe Situations
Students will learn practical steps to take if someone online makes them feel uncomfortable, including blocking, reporting, preserving evidence and seeking support from trusted adults.
Getting Help and Supporting Others
Students will recognise that anyone can become a target of manipulation and will learn how to support friends who may be experiencing online grooming while knowing where to access help and professional support.
